Planit's CAD-CAM software for the metal industry
Our metals division is one of the biggest components of the Planit group and includes the world-renowned brands of Edgecam™, Radan™ and Alphacam™. These three products alone cover a huge spectrum of manufacturing capability ranging from milling, turning and mill/ turn all within 2 to 5 Axis strategies, sheet metal fabrication including punching, profiling and nesting plus an extensive range of solutions for an array of production machining and mold & die applications.
Our solutions comprise standard out-of-the-box packages suitable for many customers at differing levels of complexity but also highly configurable products that allow for our customers to embed their competitive advantage within the complete implementation thus ensuring that they retain areas of expertise where they consider themselves unique.
3D solid modelling is available through a choice of our own dedicated software products or via a range of seamless integrations with all the leading CAD packages. In addition we can offer full support for the latest machine tool and tooling technology and the ability to cope with programming the simplest to the most complex components.
Our approach is to provide a graduated solution for customers whereby investment in entry-level products is maintained when additional functionality is needed. We supply products to meet the requirements of simple manufacturing tasks through to the most complex scenarios available, all covered by our comprehensive education, training, consultancy and support programmes. We design our products to work with all CNC machines and partner closely with OEM manufacturers to ensure our solutions optimise the capabilities of machine tools.
The Planit software solutions utilise, where appropriate, a common component approach allowing for key pieces of functionality to be used throughout the portfolio. This provides significant advantages in efficiency, testing and deployment. With all software production contained within a single departmental structure the use of standards, common processes and best practice is fundamental to the ongoing development of our solutions.
